Welcome to Slow English FM’s Famous People programme. We tell stories in clear English to help listeners understand the world and improve their English. This episode looks at Hokusai through his famous wave print.

EmmaHokusai’s wave print is part of a series called Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. The Metropolitan Museum of Art dates the print to about 1830 to 1832. It was made with woodblock printing, a method that uses carved blocks to print an image, with ink and colour on paper.

That is Hokusai’s wave print: one work in a series devoted to views of Mount Fuji.
